Any one have a factory schematic of the drivers door.Years back the catch that hold the door from slamming shut(wind) broke and I would like to replace it .The roller is still in place.I cannot find the s type clip that this 85 uses any where .Though not necessary it is helpful.TR
I think it would be easier to get the whole hinge than trying to replace that S part but that's me.
Dose LMC or DC or NPD list the part? It may only be a dealer item?
BTW both of my doors will close by wind.

LMC or Npd have it listed or can I find a number for this particular hinge(PERTAINING TO MY YEAR 150) .Must be a dealer only item because all hinges listed are for my year truck but do Not include the s clip. As noted above what Number Dummy posted its for ford lincoln mercury cars 1980-1989.TR
This part is a bear to install with door in place. We ended up having to loosen the door hinges to get it in and maybe some fender bolts. But we did get it in there. And it works correctly. Getting it turned right and installed was tough for my son & me. I may have taught (or reinforced) some new words that day.
Might be easier to use the newer style hinge? Newer style doesn't have the S Spring in it.
Cool, Am curious ,you couldn’t of marked the old hinge took the bolts off of the door (4 bolts that attach to door only not frame of truck)and proceeded from there? TR

Probably. Been almost a year since I did and not sure why I didn't at this point. Might have been much easier? It might have LOOKED simple enough. LOL.
Ok, usually I do not have help on projects and have to wait for ever for HELP ,so I plan accordingly .I looked this over and thought hmm bolts on door will be so much easier .I ordered one and will update ,THANKS for that link .It been years since mine broke and this has been a pita as my husky/collie rides daily .She has steps I wheel up to the truck as she (prior)has had both knees operated on .Yes pita especially if your not on level ground trying to wheel steps up for her to ride .The metal steps are a perfect fit,and I attached a dolly to them .TR
You a good dude, taking care of the dog like that.
Trust me since I retired in 2015 this dog has it made , loves to ride spot deer , other dogs squirrels etc. it’s a Dailey habit and she loves her FORD! TR.
I haven't seen the 'S' spring listed for sale, but Rockauto have these replacement hinges available with a different style of detent spring & roller......
Thanks Ken, every bit of info helps ,even for future reference as many of our trucks are old enough for this pesky problem to occur . I know on my 92 bronco it does not have the s type springs ,so ,somewhere between years they changed to the type rock auto stocks .As much as I purchase from Rock , never thought to look there.I thought Dealer only item .TR
Got my s spring for the drivers door as the installed went good .Removed the door 4 bolts (door),installed s spring ,reinstalled door Chose the S spring as my door roller was still there. Yes rock auto has the new type hinges with detent ,but chose the s spring as I thought new hinge would be harder with alignment . (new-parts are always a pita)Thanks for pointing out the parts on eBay and rock auto .I still do not understand why this S spring is listed for older vehicles( Fairmont etc…)and not for our bullnose fords, but it’s good knowing new hinges with the detent may be purchased if necessary!
