New here CHT question.
Brand new 4.6 engine was installed in my 2010 F150 XL a few months ago. Truck pegged out the tempature gauge on the way home but settled quickly after I pulled off the road. Before I noticed the fans kick on high every 5 minutes. I hooked up my scanner and looked over the codes. Bank 2 sensor 1 o2 sensor was the only code. So I looked at the CHT °F and it was floating between 215-230°F. That has me a bit nervous. No coolant in the oil. I replaced the thermostat and wated pump for giggles to see if it would help. Fans still kick on high every 5 minutes and CHT hasnt changed. Clogged cats? Any suggestions?

Also... Are you sure that the cooling system was properly burped?

As said above use an OEM thermostat !! My experience has been with a 2011 & 12 5.0 engines... In both cases thermostat was changed while replacing other parts as a precaution (heater hoses & w/pump) In both cases non OEM stats were used as a replacement causing immediate higher heat conditions which also made the fans go to extreme high cooling !!!
