6.0 Injectors
I have a stock 2003 F250 lariat crew cab 4x4 and it is my first diesel truck. The only things that have been done to it are, head studs oil pump and I believe EGR but I’m not sure on the EGR. It has almost 240,000 miles on it, and have really never had any mechanical issues besides a transmission rebuild but lately it gets pretty angry when cranked in the morning. It does a whole lot of clacking and smoking. I was told that was do you bad injectors. My question is, how hard is it to change the injectors and what is the costs of me doing it vs having a shop do it. What are the best injectors to go with for the most power and performance, without having to change anything?

You're likley getting stiction at startup. I would start by putting Archoil 9100 in the oil and running a good 5W40 synthetic. That will help with the stiction and might get you by for a while. With 240k miles your injectors are probably due so definitely start looking at changing them. If you're mechanically inclined they aren't that bad, just have to be very methodical in following all of the steps of installing them.

I would agree with the above. Also of note is there is a specialized 'tool' that is needed to pull the injectors without scoring the bore they go in. I believe it is the same as the 7.3 injector tool, and used to run about $65 IIRC. When I was doing these years ago, no auto parts store around me had one to rent out so I ended up purchasing it.
