I was building an order for a 2022 F150 King Ranch. Got everything in including Max Tow Package and King Ranch High Equipment Group. I see nowhere to include the Heavy Duty Payload Package (627) which seems to require the Max Trailer Tow Package (53C). I've got the 6.5' box RWD Super Crew, and the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost so should be 157" wb. The confusion for me is that the Heavy-Duty Payload Package REQUIRES the Max Trailer Tow Package (53C) when ordered with the 3.5L EcoBoost (998) or the 5.0L (995) engine. BUT, the Max Trailer Tow Package includes: 3.73 Electronic-locking differential if ordered with: 3.5L EcoBoost with Heavy Duty Payload Package.
Does this mean if I've not found how to order the HDPP? Totally confused!
I was told today by the dealer in Spring Texas that we cannot add the HDPP to the King Ranch Super Crew with 3.5 EcoBoost nor the 5.0 Coyote. Only be added to the XL, ELT Standard and mid. Apparently this is clearly visible in the PDF at https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/atta...1-2-pdf.37582/
He said that it is just for the work type trucks. He and I tried several iterations of builds to get it into the King Ranch I wanted to order. Max Tow was no problem, but no HDPP!
Also, I was unable to build with the 3.5 and 3.73 gear. Crazy stuff.
Welcome to Ford 2022. I have to believe that folks making decisions in Ford's F-150 marketing have lost touch with the users of their vehicles. Just because I use my truck for work doesn't mean that I don't want creature comforts in that truck!
It looks as though we will need to move into the F250 zone to keep the payload higher or move away from the King Ranch trim. Problem is, none of the Lariat rim packages come close.
