I think that so long as it hasn't been sent to production, then you can still make changes.
Of course if you add something that is in short supply or commodity hold, that will delay it.
I ordered Jan 10th and was assigned a build date and vin that week. Following monday I changed up to lariat ultimate with LED headlights and 4.30 gearing. It moved my build week back by one week, which later got moved up, and then has now been moved back twice.
If you can live with the truck that is currently ordered, I would leave it. I don't think that you can make changes once it has a VIN. Even if you could... It would probably delay production and believe me, you don't want that.
This is a discussion you need to have with your sales person. The dealer is paid to know. Policy can change from day-to-day and people here are not in Ford's management loop.
Yes, you absolutely can. However, depending on the change, it may be tough. When my truck was scheduled I noticed immediately that the color got changed. I gave it a few days to see if it was maybe just a mistake that would clear up. On Monday it was still the same so I stopped in at the dealer. He pulled the VVR and sure enough, the color was wrong. Once the truck is assigned, your dealer cannot make changes. But they can call a regional rep and have orders changed after the VIN is assigned. Since I caught mine immediately and it was still a month from the scheduled build week, I encouraged him to try and get the color back to what it was supposed to be. The next day he called me and it was taken care of, with no sort of delay to the order.
Saying all of that, I would be hesitant to change the order once a VIN is assigned, and if it is close to the build date, I would consider if I could just live with it. But, if it was something major that got entered wrong, I would likely want it changed back. If you are just wanting to add something that you forgot or just decided you wanted now, it may not be worth changing the order for. If it is something you can add yourself (tonneaus, mudflaps, floor mats, etc…) I wouldn’t change it and add it yourself once you get the truck.
But yes, it can be changed, and unless your dealer is on up there, he won’t be able to do it. Even the sales manager at my dealership couldn’t change it, they had to call the regional rep.

How did you notice the color got changed 🤔
I have build date and Vin but cannot view window sticker!

On the Ford Tracker page. It gives a brief description of the order. Some items were missing, which didn’t concern me, however the color was clearly listed as a different color. At that time too, we could use the Mach E tracker, and it was listed wrong there too.
It just dawned on me that there is a paint code in vin duh
I need to confirm my vin to my order
Good catch by the way 👏
I could only imagine the look on my face when I went to pickup truck and it was the wrong color after waiting 6 months 😳

To be fair, when I first ordered my truck I wanted black. After about 5 weeks I finally got to see Antimatter Blue in person and changed my order to that color. Then, a few weeks later my order got picked up and assigned a VIN. When this happened the order changed back to black. I would have been fine with it as black, but am happy that they were able to change back to AM Blue. I did watch my order like a hawk though… I think my dealer learned some things along the way too… lol!
