There has been some discussion over the years on how to bend window channel felt without distorting/kinking the stainless trim. The trick that I have found is to let the stainless trim move on the channel as the channel is being bent...the trim is designed to slide along the metal channel framework under the fabric, if it binds it will kink and distort. Here are a couple of pics of a tool that I fabricated that holds the gap in the channel at the proper width and gives the stainless trim a hard curved surface on which to bend. I designed the curvature of the tool to match the max curve of the window opening in my doors. Larger radius curves are also possible...just stop bending when the curve you need is reached. I have not entered dimensions on these photos as I feel that they are dictated by the window channel itself...the center tang should have the same width and depth as the channel. Hope this helps some of you that are being frustrated with getting your window channels to fit correctly.
