little while back I lost spark on my 1995 F150 5.0 a new module and PIP sensor restored my spark. My speedometer and dome light quit working and a new fuse took care of that...so I thought. I had to replace to fuse again, it still works but my spark is a orangish yellow Color. It use to be a strong blue. Any one have any ideas.....
The coil is new and there are no codes showing. I backprobed the power side of the ignition coil to ground with a self powered test lite, with the coil disconnected and the ballers. Both battery terminals were disconnected. Also the PCM and ICM and distributor unplugged. I really need a good electrical diagram to trace the wire so I can start unplugging connectors....
Thanks a bunch, tomorrow I am going to dig into the ignition switch again. I replaced that about a month ago. I hope Autozone has to do a parts warranty. I really think that today's auto parts are being mass produced to quick. It seems like no one cares about quality products anymore.....Thanks again
to be fair I would be hard pressed to give the light of day to a motorcraft igniiton module from duraspark 2 cars.. Lol... But yes a motorcraft coil for that vintage is wise
infact, i felt bad replacing my OEM coil with a oreillies because the coil nub for the wire was.. well.. zapped down it was lose and not a consistent shape. carbon tracked inevitably too
Both the coil and the module are duralast. I don't think neither of those are my problem. I am at C101 now and I do need a pin out if anyone has one. I have several wires that I need to trace. I am beginning to think that a field mouse has been under my dash. I should have threw a few bars of deodorant soap under the dash when I fist got the truck. Maybe this would not have happened. It worked in a few cars that I have restored. If anyone has a C101 pin out and a ignition switch pin out I would really appreciate them...
It was a motorcraft 5f16c...now it is duralast f139 ...I think that is same as standard..Circuits 648, 264, 360, 355, 351, and 359 are shorted to ground some where. I would like to find a good diagram so that I can chase these circuits. Pictures of connector locations will help since I will be unplugging connectors to find which way the wires run under my dash. Thanks for all your help....
