made the Exhaust box new disc's up front and rebuilt the calliper's built a steering rack subframe mount thing sorted the exhaust tips out old scaffold planks for the bed
Prop shaft is all made and fitted with a new cross member and it now a more even two piece, brakes are all plumb in now to and a servo , and have driven it but only in and out the workshop for now ,
new prop dug out the wheeling machine i made a few years ago new bows on the back ready for canvas
also got bored and built some bow's for the back so I can stick a canvas over it to camp out at shows next year, got the winter now to finish off the loom and wrap it all up, and finish the long list of other little bits that take all the time,
Very nice! Are you going to build the canopy yourself? How are you going about that project?
Cheers , I measured it all up and did some sketch's to make one myself , but then I has an idea about old Army trucks, A friend has a couple of old Bedford RL's and MK's turns out they are not far off in size to the back of mine and he has a spare rear canvas tucked away in one of his barns, He dug out the front and rear covers and sent them down to me to try and there not far off apart from the RL has a flat roof , so will just have to sew in a radius part hopefully ,
He just needs to find the other parts now , but I have a plan for the main part if it doesn't work out , I found an old NATO surplus store in the Netherlands that has NOS stock
Managed to find all the old MOD canvas pieces now, Some are NOS so look a bit new, but I'm sure they will weather in, still need some modification with a big sewing machine to pull them in a bit so they fit better, but its worked out pretty cheap and the sorta look I was going for, it does look better when its all tied down properly an tight to ,
Hoping to get it outside next couple of weeks and paint the rear red to match the Cab
The Bentley engine and TH400 have been removed for another day as the parts were getting to expense and it still wasn't running right, So I have now fitted an Australian 302 Cleveland with the 2V 'quench' heads and a C4 that I have gone through and rebuilt, new exhaust, new steering as the sump wanted to sit where the old rack was, but I have done the first test drive and I can confirm nothing fell off !
The 302C intrigues me. It looks like maybe a shorter deck height from the 351. Is it? I'd love to see power comparisons or dyno tests between the 302C and our 302W based engines to know what we're missing. The Clevelands were always a very sexy looking engine. One of my favorites.

PS, love the Washington state license plate, too.
it's the same deck height, it just has a shorter throw cranks and longer rods, unique to Australian Cleveland's, you can fit all the 351C rotating assembly in there but the compression ratio may be a bit high, they did manufacture their own 2V 'quench' heads in Australia to which used to be sort after until they started mass producing aftermarket heads, should pull the truck along alright hopefully
The truck came over to Wales from Washington state back in 2010 but I will have to stick my UK plates on it soon unfortunately
