I am trying to install the above radio in my 1978 F150/ I am having trouble with the bracket spacing. Has anyone installed one of these and do you have pictures or insight as to what I must do? I spent all day at this and ended up taring it back out. I am frustrated with this. Lol
Thanks
Randy

I did know that but thanks. My problem is the bracket is hitting on the left side of the dash part if I go behind the existing hole. I am having trouble centering it. I guess I have to set it back even more or bend the radio bracket. I am debating making my own brackets. I was hoping someone has done it and can tell me where I am going wrong. I will call the company help line tomorrow. Thanks Again
Randy
that is correct but the bracket on the left side hits the dash frame when the radio is centered. There is a bracket on either side of the radio. These brackets hold the rheostats on each side of the main radio. I will take a picture today. I think I just have to move it back further to clear the dash.

Pictures would help tremendously.
Many of these trucks have been fitted with aftermarket radios, I have two I am going to swap out here soon myself plus I have more brackets and stock am/fm ... so very likely some several have faced you issue before. I have read and re-read your post with near to no clue as to your issue myself.
I can only say that when I remove my radio,
First off is the ***** ...
Then use a 9/16 deep well hand held socket on the nuts ... and then remove the Pioneer plastic and a metal face plate (that has a textured vinyl on it) that I must use (to hide a radio hole in the bezel),
Then I remove the larger dash bezel itself.
I then undo the heater/ac control four screws ...
Then remove a large bracket that holds radio after working it over heater/ac control screw bosses ...
Then after the large bracket is removed, I just pull the radio out far enough to deal with it's wires.
To install the radio, I put the radio in the lower cavity, wire it, then just reverse my removal steps.
Any hidden rear support brace ... I deal with from under the dash with ash tray and it's holder removed.
hentzrd - your pictures are not showing. You may be trying to paste the image in the dialogue box; you should probably use the "manage attachments" button and attach the file.
I think I have it figured out. I had to bend left side bracket to make it fit and will have to cut both end brackets to get the Bezel to line up. Also I have to extend out some so the rear ***** will not hit the chrome surround.

Reason: words added
Notice I bent the left bracket. I also had to move the radio front more to get in the right place for final trim. I have to expand holes in both brackets to make it right. Notice how the rear ***** overlap the chrome trim. I hade to extend them some too.I think I have it now. Got to tired so it is nap time for this old man. Tomorrow is another day. I may just fabricate my own bracket.

Yep, that black metal plate is definitely aftermarket. Cut away.
