Limited-time deal: NOCO GENIUS2D, 2-Amp Direct-Mount Onboard Charger, 12V Battery Charger, Battery Maintainer, Trickle Charger, and Battery Desulfator with Temperature Compensation
What types of battery tenders do you have on your trucks? Also “Sous” if you can please post some info on your thru bumper plug set up.
Thanks
I have a small (2A or 4A maybe) single bank NOCO tender under the hood. If your charging system and primary battery wires/terminals are in good shape, you do not need a dual bank tender. The batteries are wired together in order to act as one high amperage battery.
I have a NOCO 120v plug in each of the corners of the front bumper. The plug on the driver side is for the block heater and the passenger side is for the battery tender.
They allow for a clean look and easy access to the 120v accessories.
I have 3 other Deltran "Battery Tender" brand tenders for our other vehicles as well. No complaints or bias towards either brand. The NOCO was a gift from Santa one year and has been working well.
Reason being for the 10 amp version is when i would use the block heater I had it on a smart timer that worked with Alexa and I had it programmed to come on 90 minutes before I leave for work in the morning, or whenever I tell Alexa to turn it on, and I had the heater and maintainer plugged in on the same cord. I wanted more amps for the shorter powered on time than someone who may plug it in after a hardware store run on Tuesday and not drive again till Saturday.
I really like the battery options on them of being able to use it on the regular lead acid, AGM, or lithium. Especially since I switched to AGM this winter. Haven't plugged the block heater in any this winter tho. I charged up the new AGMs in the truck overnight before I ever tried cranking it just to make sure they were completely topped off. Plug it in randomly every few weeks now just to make sure all is well
