Sometimes you just need to sit out the market.
Were in an inflationary period and a bubble.
To be honest I wouldnt give sticker price for that truck at 90 grand. But I dont need it either.
Personally Im not buying anything I dont need at this point.
I use a certain brand of protein powder. Last time I bought the under 5 Lb keg it was $62. On Amazon. I went to buy it last week and it was $93. Im not buying it. Dont care about supply chain BS or virus or who the president is. Im not buying it. I found an equally high rated brand in a full 5 Lb keg for $58.
I also shifted away from the local supermarket because the products available at Costco are often better at lower prices.
No skin off my nose todrive 5 miles south insted of 5 miles west. By the way gas at costco is often as much as 30 cents a gallon lower than some of the surrounding stations.
If you feel a screwing just walk. If everyone walks the price will come down.
Maybe. Unless all the market forces actually drove the costs up. Which I dont believe is happening now.
I feel for the fixed income retirees. As Im about to become one... But if prices are moving out of reach then you need to produce higher income. Either by bitching for a raise or raising your prices.
Just dont blame honest companies for raising prices.
But dealers screwing people is nothing new. I almost drove 300 miles away to buy my 19 Lariat because local dealers were pretending demand was so high they didnt need to deal... As if I couldnt tell the truck sat on the lot for 9 months.
In the end I ordered, and used the deal from 300 miles away to leverage my local dealer.
We might be pawns but we dont need to be victims.
The important thing is we all have to make a profit in order to stay in business.
while that is a crazy price, it's just a asking price. Keeps the tire kickers at bay.
I'm fortunate enough to work for a good company, Our commodities keep going up and up. Our suppliers give us advance notice everything is going up 5%, or 3% or whatever and when.
Paychecks aren't, but inflation is and lack of workers, quality ones.
Weird times we're living in get used to it.
By the way I've seen Raptors as much as $150,000..... Nothing special except for the 37-in tires
It's getting so ridiculous, I hope it straightens out & gets back to normal soon. One year ago I ordered a new Dodge Hellcat Redeye, got it for 5% BELOW invoice. Right now, of course the MSRP has gone up, but the best you can do is MSRP if you are lucky. Some dealers have high ADM'S & it makes it even worse. I'm just so glad I got it when I did, this has gotten out of hand.
It's going to take me a year to get it but I bought mine at invoice. if I had to pay much more than that I'd just sit it out what goes up will come down. it'll never come down below the cost of production but all the stupid crap that's been going on will cease.
My build seems to be getting pushed back a week for every week that goes by. So
I decided to go looking to see what’s available in inventory. Found a 2022 KRU at Bob Davidson Ford in Baltimore for $25K over sticker. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Ford needs to start pulling franchises from dealers like this.
Do you only complain when you are having the short end of the stick or do you also complain when they are selling below MSRP? Yes, it sucks but you take the good with the bad. When I offer you double what your house is worth, you accept happily. When I ask twice what it is worth, you squeal like a pig. Sorry, this is a peril of capitalism. If you want a law to have the dealer sell at MSRP regardless, lets discuss. If you only whine when it goes against you, I'm not interested.
I think GM threatened the same thing. When we can see some dealers with their allocations slashed, I'll start to believe it. Till then, it is just a barking dog with no teeth showing.
