my 2017 f350 panic alarm goes off by itself, does anyone have any advice? It happened 2 evenings in a row in my driveway after Christmas, I went out to check on it. There was about 8 inches of snow in my drive, the only hoof prints I found were my own. I thought perhaps someone on my street had something which transmits the same frequency and set it off. Last night I was camped a couple hundred yards from the street or any other homes, and at 12:55 am the alarm went off. Every time this has happened my keys were not in my pocket or anywhere near me, so I didn't lean against something and press the panic button.
a fly or a moth will set mine off if I leave the inside sensors turned on.
mine to
when it first did it this summer
i had several alarms in middle of night, phone went crazy with notifications.
looked at cameras and nothing around, no cats, no people
next day i went over to see if cats had left tracks on hood, when i opened the door there was a dead moth on the console...i figured he was setting it.
have no idea where he came from
I need to check my settings, but I often leave dogs in the truck and lock up when we go to dinner, and they never have set it off. I've camped in windstorms that rocked me all night in New Mexico, and no alarms. I changed the battery in my fob today to see if that helps.
I have some new information about this. My hood ajar light came on today, I stopped and checked it, seemed ok to me, but I opened and shut it hard anyway. Tonight it came on again, and I know now that it is not ajar. At least this sensor is easy to get to. I will look for one at a parts store on my way out tomorrow, headed south into Oregon, then East into Idaho, south to Utah.
Does anyone here know if that switch is open or closed when the hood is latched? Or, maybe I will just unplug it and see if the light is on or off...
