Amp Step Troubleshooting
Hi, I have a 2011 6.7 Crew Cab with Amp Steps. The steps all work great. With exception to my front passenger door. When I open the door I hear the step engage and move slightly then it stays retracted. Has anybody had this type of issue with the steps? Any input would be great. I know only 3 of my step lights work. They may be burnt out. Thanks in advance.

If you aren’t the original owner/installer, you’ll find the AMP connectors mentioned above under the front passenger sill plate. Unfortunately they are Scotch Locks in their kit, and could be a weak connection from 10+ years of service. Try there to start. The lights are also LED. If they don’t work, they need to be replaced entirely - which at that point you could put any 12V light you wanted on that connection under the cab.
