I've been fooling with the Sync 4 system in my 350 for the past 3 weeks and 3300 miles. Overall, I liked Sync 3 better. One of the features/functions that I particularly liked was the ability to re-order waypoints while driving. Sync 4 does not allow this - I get a message to the effect of "Some functions not available for your safety". Having successfully driven the 2017 for 258k+ miles, I'm pretty sure I can handle this, and pulling over to re-order waypoints is often not an option. Anyone know if Forscan/dealer can help with removing this restriction?
The other feature that was nice with Sync 3 was getting not just time but also distance between waypoints. This often came in handy to get a rough sense of traffic issues that might be popping up.
Are you planning on subscribing to the Ford Connected Navigation for $80/yr? Otherwise it won't matter when you lose the Sync Navigation anyway. I know that isn't the question you asked, but is a relevant point and a major disappointment in the new Sync 4 as has been discussed elsewhere on here.
As far as I know, you can't change the in motion lock out by forscan.
NAVIKS is working on an unlock and camera in motion for the Super Duty.
Currently they are looking for someone in the NYC area to do beta testing.
I offered, but Texas was too far away for them...

I'm not sure yet. Gaining this functionality would certainly make me think harder about keeping it. I wish I could just get a Sync 3 retrofit kit. :-)
My 2017 was a Lariat also, and about 3 months before I sold the truck the 5 year traffic/weather/fuel prices subscription expired. I had gotten pretty used to using it and paid the $72 or whatever it was to renew for the coming year. I found that sometimes iPhone traffic was more accurate, and sometimes the TomTom or wherever the traffic data came from on the Sync 3 was better. I regularly compared and checked both when routing.

That's not far from me - how do I get in touch with them?
I called Naviks a couple minutes ago, and explained what I was trying to do. They said a solution would be available in a couple months, no testers needed anymore. The Naviks rep wouldn't commit to a timeline when I asked about May, just to call and ask again in a couple months.
Fingers crossed. In the interim, I'm going to try Google Maps app and see how that works on iPhone. I'm usually a disaster with this kind of stuff.
