Hey guys looking for some help troubleshooting an issue. Just recently picked up an 02' Excursion and there's an intermittent clicking noise from behind the dash no rhyme or reason and sounds like a relay to me sometimes when it clicks it will flash the climate control lights. I have tried to isolate it to what is affected by turning off the climate control screen, but it still clicks? Everything works fine or else i'd probably be able to tell what is causing it.
Ahh probably so the PO installed LED's everywhere some flicker and some stay illuminated the turn signal also blinks fast as if a bulb were out, but there aren't. Multifunction switch? as in the entire piece or something different?
I just messed with the headlights some checked fuses all good went from low to high beam they turned on and back to low beam on no problem.
If I recall it's between the column and the mid, basically past your right knee. It's also where the code for the door is located and that's even more well hidden.
So I replaced the Multifunction switch only to find that didn't solve the rapid flashing. so I swapped back to the old one since it was labeled with a build date of 2016 and returned it. I bought an "LED" relay and replaced the flasher relay fixed the rapid turn signal flashing. I am still having a hard time determining what the clicking noise/flickering climate control screen is.... maybe another relay?
