F250 regular cab removal
Anything different on a standard cab removal?
I presume I need to swing it by a shop to get ac evacuated. Will I just be able to recharge it afterwards?
I am going to put studs in and replace a piston on an 81000 mile truck. Injector will be replaced.
I will be using a big forklift. Will the top of cab support the weight if I open doors and use two heavy straps.
Aside from the injector electrical disconnect tool and 40 mm long shaft tool are there any other specialty tools I will need?
thanks for any help. I am sure I will have more.

There are a total of SIX cab to frame fasteners in total for a regular cab configuration (as opposed to EIGHT for crew cab body styles). Other than that, all the electrical connections are identical across all body configurations.

Yes.

All cab removals I've ever done on every truck I've worked on, has been done using a two post lift. That said, I can't personally speak to whether or not the roof of the cab will support the weight of the cab without damage, lifting it by your intended method. My personal opinion is it will be safer to remove, using a lift. However, on a regular cab you would likely need to remove the extension arms in order to shorten the length of the lift arms, so as to be able to set it up to lift the cab without hitting the frame. A safety strap is also a definite must on a regular cab, due to how nose heavy it will be.

I'm not really sure what you mean by 40mm long shaft tool, but as far as I remember, there aren't any out of the ordinary tools you will require, to separate the cab from the frame, other than maybe an oxy-acetylene torch to put heat to the cab to frame fasteners, due to the age of the vehicle.

The tool I said was 40 mm was written wrong. I meant the Torx bit for removing the injector.
again. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I am sure I will have more.
