Most times, and not just Ford dealers, when a vehicle is invoiced to the dealer it automatically is put on their website. I guess mostly to gain interest from new customers even though it's a sold order. personally I don't care but I think it should also state that the vehicle is sold. It's a PITA to shop for a vehicle & spend time looking & calling to find out you're out of luck.
Anyone find it annoying that the dealer puts your window sticker and truck info with pictures on their dealership website? They list it as for sale with the price and to call the dealer for availability. I mean I have the deposit on it, I would pay cash for it today if the dealer let me. My truck is currently in production and probably wont get to the dealer until mid March.
For kicks I had my buddy call on it. The dealer said its spoken for but they can add him to a list if the person backs out.
Don't let it bother you.
I also saw my 2022 on the dealer's website.
They're not trying to mess with you.
It is just the way it is done.
I ordered my truck in Jun 21, when I got notified, it was in production it showed up on my dealer's website. I called and asked about this and was informed it was still my truck, but it was an automatic listing and is done as a marketing tool.
About a one and a half weeks before deliver it was removed from the dealer website. A little concerned i called the dealer to inquire what was going on..."did you sell my truck out from underneath me". They informed me they were receiving too many calls about the truck it was creating havoc for them during the day; they removed it from the website. After the truck arrived, I got the call and went and picked it up. All was well.
Mine was not on the dealer website either, however when the chief and I went to pick it up there were 6 guys standing around it on the showroom floor. According to my salesman, they all wanted to buy it right now...two with cash in hand...🤷♂️

Well, yeah, pretty red truck truck like that. Everyone wants one.
This is a standard automated process once a vin is generated it uploads into the dealers inventory. If you click on the window sticker link on their site and the window sticker is green, it's a custom order (not for sale) unless the buyer was to not fulfill the purchase. It also notes it on the bottom of the Vin "Special order".
I've ordered several trucks and mine was always posted. On a positive note you can view your window sticker, verify your options and compare to other builds.
