Help! Truck started overheating this morning and when i popped off the dog house i noticed coolant spewing from this nipple with nothing to plug it in sight. Ive looked all over the engine and tugged on every coolant hose and cannot confirm where this goes. Ive been trying for hours, ive called the parts department im SOL can someone help?

I am guessing that you have a 4.6 engine. If so then if there is no heater hose near by, you would have a rubber cap held on with a clamp and it has blown off..
dorman 02253 rubber cap kit from the help section in the parts store should fit and you should use a screw type hose clamp.. Perhaps better then the rubber plug would be a piece of reinforced heater hose and find something to plug the end with. The rubber plugs/caps can get old and crack or as you experienced, pop off.
