disable traction control?

pushing the button on my dash turns on the light in the gauge cluster indicating that traction control has been disabled, but it still doesn't seem to actually stop being a nanny.

my kids miss doing donuts in big empty parking lots with fresh snow, please advise.

Scott has it right, there's levels, not just "on or off" and it's never 100% off because the RSC can't be disabled.
