I love my Coopers. Too bad they got bought out and offshored.

Have you entertained the fact that your 4wd maybe isn't working? It will be interesting in the first snow to see if these do any better than your Wranglers.

From my understanding this was a recent occurrence which is also not surprising. My mother worked for a Goodyear dealership for 25 years before it was sold off by the family. She told me Kelly Springfield, Cooper and of course Goodyear were the only brands offered by contract. KS were considered a value branded tire. Cooper was the same thing. Mid tier/ grade level. She stated the Goodyear would be pushed over the other 2 brands. Back in the 2000s, Goodyear broke from the traditional dealership routes. They opened up to everyone. So it didn't matter if you were a dealer or not. You could by Goodyear from any tire center.

I checked, the tires are USA made 3 peak flake.

I thought of this. I checked. The system is working. Tonight I checked the 4WD with the new tires. They definitely gripped the surface like they should. Feedback in the wheel like usual. Last night when I was driving over to the tire center, it was raining fairly steady. I could feel how the Goodyears felt. In the same conditions after the truck was done, I could feel a difference. The Goodyears would have no problem breaking traction. The Coopers just seem to stay connected to the road. I would like to get some snow and try them out in powder and slush. Let's see what happens.

So far so good after the first 24 hours. We had a mix of rain over night and ice change over during the day. Driving home this evening, there was some sleet/ wintry mix on the local neighborhood streets. I got the rear started to break loose in one turn but it straightened right up. The previous tires would not hold as well. Same sizes and pressure set ups. They felt really good overall. One thing I did notice how well the truck seems to track with these tires. I know the previous tires had a very light pull to the right. These Coopers seem to be spot on at highway speeds of 70 MPH. I am really impressed so far. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a good shot of the tires. They are getting to dark in the photos. LoL

I would just submit that a couple of hundred pounds of ballast weight in the bed of a dually truck is not diddly squat for ballast.

Not enough weight considering the load is spread over 4 rear tires, instead of two. The truck won't even know something is back there.

We usually have ice and snow for most of the winter here. Highways and surface (city) streets are usually cleared off for most of the time. But residential streets and parking lots are almost continuously covered in sheet ice all winter. I set a pallet of sand bags in the back of my F250 with 1200 pounds of sand on it. I normally don't need 4wd unless the snow is deep or there's an ice covered slope I need to go up (or down).

I'm running BFG A/T KO2's on my truck. My last set were the older "KO"'s, not the "2"'s. I think the newer "KO2"'s have better winter traction than the older "KO" tread design. Last set of KO's went 48K and I broke a belt in one at that mile mark, tread depth was still good, figured I could go another 4-6 months on them. But with one broken belt on one tire, I just replaced them all with the KO2's. I like them and have been happy with them for my uses. I have a little over 20K miles on them now. I know others like to bash them, but they work for me, so I continue to buy them. I have been through snow higher than my axles several times in them (in 4wd of course), and they have good snow, ice, dirt, gravel and wet manners. The only thing they fall short on is deep, sloppy mud. But that's kind of the nature of most "A/T" tires in my opinion. They are supposed to be a noisy tire ("supposed" because I can't really hear them, lost most of my hearing in the service years ago). But honestly, the absolute LAST thing I care about in a truck tire is if they're "noisy" or not. I'm more concerned that the tire can get me there, and back again. Besides, with the windows up and the radio on, you're not going to hear them anyway, even with the hearing of a cocker spaniel.

Just my 2 cents....

Here is a pic of the truck with the new tires.Just posted the tires on FB marketplace for a few hundred. I am sure they will sell in a few days if not by the end of next week. They are in good condition and have little tread wear. 2 of them are at 12/32 the other 2 are at 14/32. Someone will want them. Just readjusted the air on the tires. One of them was at 80 PSI and 2 were at 60. The last one was at 65. So I have a feeling someone's air gauge was not working right. So I adjusted them to a more reasonable and equal setting. I was impressed the tech knew how to relearn the TPMS which ironically Ford techs never do. They rotate the tires but not relearn the sensors.

So far I am liking these tires. I want to report back in 10,000 miles. The road manners are nice. It seems to be a much different design than from what I remember. Would like to see how they perform in snow conditions as well as mud/ wet grass (camping) Hopefully not hold on too many stones, etc.

So far so good. Weather has been very quiet and warmer than normal lately. As for the Wranglers. I posted them on FB marketplace Sunday afternoon/ evening. 5 people reached out about the tires in the first 6 hours. All low *****. Sold the tires by Wednesday. Got some cash back on the tires. More importantly, made the wife happy.
