Can you put tremor shocks on a non tremor? Or do you also have to change the springs? Also if you changed the springs would that cause the castor to be reduced?
How cheap are you getting these shocks? I have my doubts they are any better than the standard shocks the other trucks get, they might even be the same shock with just a fancy paint job like the old "Rancho" shocks the FX4 trucks used to come with. If it was me I'd spend the money on a nice set of Rancho 9000s or some Fox shocks.
Don't know about the fitment sine the Tremor sits a little higher but if you change the ride height of the front of your truck it will change the alignment some.

Yes, you could put Tremor shocks on a non Tremor without changing any springs. Did you find some Tremor take off's, cheap?
Before you spend too much on a set of Tremor take offs, make sure you know the mileage and don't spend too much. My rear Tremor shocks were toast at 11k miles. Replaced all 4 corners with Bilstein 5100's.
A little off topic, having difficult time finding imperial data (like consumer report/popular mechanics) that take an unbiased look at the actual performance and endurance of the more common truck shocks, other than the flames that gets thrown around on forums
To be honest the tremor doesn’t have a single part on it that I would spend money on to add to any other super duty.
for the most part the truck is not very much different. And if you look at any parts that might be different between tremor and say an FX4 truck…..there’s an aftermarket equivalent part that’s a lot better than what comes on tremor.
Only reason I asked is I read somewhere that people like the tremor shocks and springs wasn’t looking to level the truck but they said it made it ride better
There was a post yesterday on which shock do you like. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s....php?t=1686517
I like the Tremor shocks because they have a built in hydraulic bump stop. The Tremor springs are about 3/4" higher depending on which springs you have and which Tremor springs you get based on weight. Somebody just bought a new tremor and tried a set of Bilstein 5100's replacing his Tremor shocks. He put the Tremor shocks back on because it gave him a better ride. The new Bronco is coming out with new shocks that have position damping and they, I believe, are being made by Bilstein. I don't know who is making the Tremor shocks?

tremor shocks are still twin tube shocks, which belong in the 80's. I bet he didnt like them because most people prefer a softer/plush ride. A better performing shock is going to be "stiffer" but that also means you dont blow through shock travel and bounce off the bump stops. I saw that article about an internal bump zone, i bet its a foam bump stop. No way its anything like the Bilstein 8112 series.
all that to say, no matter what, its an HD truck, it rides like an HD truck for the most part lol.
I don't know, and have not seen a shock body that looks exactly the same, but I believe Tenneco manufacturers OE shocks for some of the auto makers including Ford, or I should say, possibly including Ford. They also own Monroe and Rancho. I haven't had a Tremor shock in hand, are there any markings, logos, "made in.." anywhere on it?
