I finally found a spare HOG0 PCM for my 94 F150 4x4 302 with E4OD MAF. It seems to have a burnt out circuit on the TCC. I want to send it for testing and refurb. I'm in communist **** hole canada though and noone up here even knows what I'm talking about when I call them lol SIA Electronics say they can do it. Their price is reasonable as well. But they're reviews are TERRIBLE. The HOG0 is a rare, harder to find bird. It took me 2 years constantly trolling scrap yards to find one. I plugged it into my frame off rebuild project truck to test it. The TCC wont release in drive. So I suspect that circuit needs attention.
My primary PCM in there now, the truck runs perfect (it's a front to back frame off rebuild).
I cant risk sending it to SIA and them messing it up or playing cross border shipping games with spotty work. Can anyone point me to a reputable tester/refurbishing company in the USA that is familiar with these old Ford PCMs? Can anyone vouche for SIA Electronics? A new HOG0/HOG1 is almost 800 USD!!!! I want a spare on hand just in case. I see a potential 4r70w swap or manual trans swap surgery in the future. Almost 1k CAD for a PCM is insane and renders a perfectly good vehicle dead in the water. Any tips, references or help with this would be greatly appreciated boys.
What's J3 chip in HOG1, just asking for future ref. I have a HOG0, and if it blows again....
Make sure you PACK lots of grease into that connector, otherwise don't even drive in rain lol

Using Moates Tuning hardware and Burning Hardware, the J3 chip plugs into the back of the PCMs J3 port. You have to buy or find someone with the hardware to do.
I know of at least one mass air 5.8 with an automatic at the local yard. I robbed the intake tube and air cleaner for my mass air swap. Is the ecu worth enough to make a special trip for?
So SIA can get the job done then eh?
Maybe I'll take the plunge and send her off.
Can someone walk me through this J3 bypass?
I'd still need to use a 94 5.0 E4od PCM no?
All of those listed ie HOG0, HOG1, WAY1 etc are all unicorns and going rates for a refurbed one are in the 650 to 900 USD range.
1. Can I run a more common PCM in my 94 5.0 E4OD MAF only truck with this J3 electronic voodoo?
Would be plug and play for my 94 F150 5.0 E4OD MAF only truck?
It makes me nervous knowing that a simple fried circuit in a 25 year old computer chip can turn my truck into a paperweight unless I buy a 1000 CAD primitive circuit board lol
