I have the hose fitting on the back of my intake manifold and I don’t know what it is or where to find a diagram for it. It’s on my 1983 f150 with a 302. What is it? Fitting behind carb
Are you talking about the big Christmas tree fitting at the aft center of the intake manifold? Here’s a picture on my 351W:
The fat line on the end goes to the power brake booster. The smaller lines go to various points on the engine, the HVAC door actuators, and the speed control servo.
Depending on the equipment installed, not all ports on this fitting are used. The unused fittings are capped. If you have a line looped between two of these ports, I bet a cap or two fell off and somebody “fixed” it by connecting a hose. Might have been easier than trying to find replacement caps.
You can see this fitting on the emissions vacuum diagram. There should be one on a valve cover and another next to the hood latch. Here’s mine, which only shows one line from this fitting, to the air cleaner heated intake system.
The diagram doesn’t show the brake booster, HVAC, or speed control because those aren’t emissions-related, even though they use the same vacuum source.
