My transmission went out the other day. I have a 2001 Excursion 6.8 V10. I’m not sure what model transmission I have but it looks original. I was given a quote for $3800 for a remanufactured one including install with a 3 yr warranty. Is that a high price or normal. Truck only has 140000 miles on it.
Drive went out of it. I was driving down the interstate with no problems and was like I threw it in neutral. Reverse is the only gear that works. I had the fluid and filter changed in the summer and had a cooler put on to help when I’m pulling my camper.
My pricing is outdated by over 10 years. When I owned a repair shop I knew that info. But I have been out of that business for 11 years. I'm sure prices have changed a lot since then.
