Hello everyone! I am in need of help, I have replaced every sensor and most of the pigtails on my 97 f350. It has a 7.3L and I recently had the PCM rebuilt. Sending it back to the company for testing. Hoping that they just didn’t program it correctly. I am getting only 1 code and that is P1280. It is trying to start but it just not firing up, when trying to fire it up it blows out white smoke. Probably due to the dealership who worked on my truck last. They didn’t tighten up the down pipe all the way. Brand new glow plugs and relays. I checked to make sure the relay was working and it has power. I Have checked all the wiring diagrams to make sure I wired it correctly and there are no burnt wires. It was running before I had the PCM rebuilt. The old PCM had a few acidic leaks, the only other thing I replaced was the IPR and it is not throwing a code for anything but the P1280. Please if you have ideas or suggestions I would appreciate them. I couldn’t find anything similar through the 7.3 threads.

I just had an oil change done and the tanks are full. Fuel pressure is good. The engine isn’t getting hot enough. I have a cheap glow plug relay on there. I think I’m not getting enough amps through it. So I ordered a new one.
When you turn the key on how long do you wait to start the engine? Don't try as soon as the wait to start light goes out, give it a full min
Cheap relay? Cheap glow plugs too? I may have missed something in reading.
.
I wait until the “wait to start” light goes off and an additional 20 seconds after that before starting. My glow plug kit and harness was a kit that came with a relay and it was around $350. It’s supposedly motorcraft set.
Just wanted to give an update. The IPR o-ring blew out and had to get a rebuild o-ring kit for it. Truck is now running, but has a bad shake. Drove it to the end of the driveway and white smoke coming out of exhaust. Had to replace glow plugs again, three were swollen at the tip. Pulled it back into the shop and let it sit overnight. Checked all the oil and fluid levels. Got new injectors on the way. Hoping this is the last of the problems.
