Hey all.
I have a 99 crew cab lariat and the insides of my doors was rusting so I bought the doors off of a '08 xl. Tonight as I was getting them ready for paint I noticed the rear doors dont have holes in them for speakers. So my questions are these:
1. Is it going to be a pain to cut and install speakers, and what's the best way to go about this?
2. Am I going to have issues switching manual windows to the electric ones?
thanks.
I think you would be better off mounting the speakers elsewhere, like under the seats in boxes. While you could cut a hole the right size it also has to match up with the plastic from the inside door panel. The factories typically also put a raised edge around where the speakers mount so the speaker would sit lower in the door- I am not familiar with the rear doors on your vehicle to say for sure if this is true or not. Just what I have observed in other vehicles.
