Finally bit the bullet

After sitting on the E fuel parts and pieces for about a month, ( cnc fab 4 line kit and airdog 4g ) I dug into the project yesterday. After pulling everything off the top of the motor, and pulling the drivers side up pipe ( I was not thrilled bout this ) I'm at the point where the fittings in the heads have to be removed. This is honestly why I have been avoiding this kit for so long.

What are some of the tips and tricks to make this less scary. It seems as though every install manual talks about the possibility of cracking a head. I'm very mechanically inclined but I'm not sure why this has me so worked up.

Thanks in advance for any advise, Love the forum, tend to read more than I post

I’ve used tape on some and red loctite on others but the red loctite is the easiest to use. It’s pretty evident how tight to get them.. remember tho it’s a heck of a lot easier to pull everything apart and turn it one more round because it was leaking, than it is to tear it apart because it cracked!
Something else, not all the fuel holes are at a right angle to the flattened surface. So some like the passenger side front especially looks like you cross threaded it because it goes in at such an odd angle, but that’s why it’s easier to use loctite, you just let that sucker go where it wants to. To confirm what I’m explaining, stick a straw or something else that’s roughly the size of the hole and you will see that it’s not going to be at a right angle.

Its definitely an intimidating job, but once you get those 4 ports in the rest is pretty straightforward, just time consuming!

I wouldn't worry about cracking the head. You'd have to be really wrenching on the fitting to get it that tight.

Efuel is super nice.

Pretty sure all the fittings are tight enough, and all the lines are in place, next up is mounting the fass pump. The biggest pain in the rear was making clearance for the 94.5 drivers rear fuel fitting to spin.

It will be! And looking at your other upgrades, this will be a nice improvement and a quieter engine! And a heck of a lot easier to change out the pump! 😆

As far as things go, my build is fairly tame, and more meant for long haul reliability. 160 injectors, always in a tow tune, kc balanced turbo assembly, southbend clutch, upipes and irate plenums... nothing fancy
