I have a 1995 E150 conversion van that ran fabulously until the battery was dead and had to be jumped. After that it needed a new ECM. It sat for a year during this time. After that the speed control sensor had to be replaced and it began shifting erratically intermittently. It may not have a problem for 2-6 hours then start shifting hard or not shift into second. Then park overnight and it may be fine again the next day. After several days of driving it seems to have more problems. Then it will be fine after sitting several days.
I love this old van. I have had it to the ford dealer. Who thought they had it fixed but then after a long drive it started up again.
Any ideas?
The speed sensor was replaced because the ecm threw a speed sensor code. The check engine light has not come back on since the new ecm was installed. Then the van was driven over 6 hours only stopping for gas before the transmission started acting funny again. Would the transmission be going bad and run smoothly for that long?
No it was acting up before the sensor was changed.
