Hi there, greetings to everyone from Los Angeles , I have a 1995 Ford E 350 conversion Van with 130 K Miles, for the first 2 years all was great, I drove less than 800 miles a year, but now when I drove it ,sometimes it used to keep staling when I came to a stop, and when I put in reverse it also staled sometimes, since then I was putting it into Neutral when I came to a Stop sign,
but lately a bigger problem came up, as I am driving suddenly the Van stays. as if no gas, than I tried to start again ,I had to wait a bit , but mostly now I am stuck with it more than 30 min to a whole Day, a friend said it coud be Electrical. or Fuel, most of the time the Van was parked at the Beach for surfing but now its in Hollywood, any ideas, help would be greatly appreciated ..
Also in the past when I took it for oil change to Ford Dealer they said the stalling is caused by Torque converter, they wanted me to rebuild the whole Transmission, and they also said Transmission fluid is over filled from prior owner , when the van runs its really awesome, just this problem now...
And my apologies if I can't respond right away, I am usually driving, thank you...
Sounds like the dealer is right. My torque converter went in my 1991 F-150 and I had the same issue with it stalling in drive and reverse. Also had a clogged trans cooler line.
Are you saying to van won't move and the engine revs when it stalls like its in nuetral? Or does the engine kind of stumble and putter like its outta gas?

I'm saying I would have to rev in neutral and shift to drive to give it a running start. Not a bright idea though as it could cause more damage but it was all I could do because I was 40 miles from home and couldn't afford a tow. It wouldn't sputter, just straight stall when it got around 15MPH.
