trans ID
The tag is:
PGB AK5
2128
Thanks,
Mark
I don't think I can help back-referencing with the tag #.
However, if you can find the part # for the case, or the extension housing (assuming its a 2WD trans), the year can be figured out.
Here are some places you could try looking for the:
Main case # - at the topside, rear, of the main case, right in front of the parting line of Main Case to Ext. Housing.
Main case casting # – at left rear bottom corner above pan edge.
Extension housing # - on left side below the top bolt.
Getting the year should get you the proper part kit. The rebuild friction kit should have the max number of friction discs used for that year. For example, the kit may have 6 discs for a particular clutch, but you may only need to use 5 of them, matching what was in there.
It is:
1 D2 TP - 7006 AA
Does that make it a '72 case?
(Sorry about the dash)

From some info I have, I can see PGB - tagged C6's as being with FE series engines, like 390 & 428.
And the PJD - tagged as going with 460's.
What little I have doesn't cover your exact PGB AK5 tag code. But if PGB's were only FE mated (and that's an if), is that what you wanted?
There are a lot of different C6 main cases over the years!
