Luckily I live in So. Nv so I can still put some rainx on them. I'm definitely gonna try that. Soon as I get home from eastern Washington and northern Idaho.
It’s a heated lens for an LED headlight. Works on the same principle as a defroster. Lines heat up and keep the lens free of snow/ice buildup. Not exactly an OEM replacement for our trucks but you could mount some auxiliary LED lights like these if the snow/ice was a major issue.

so with all the cold weather testing for has done on these trucks since they started putting oem led headlights in they still haven't figured out how convenient this would be? How have they not run into this problem and thought...hhhmmmm....how can we prevent this from happening?

I’m sure they are aware, however they’re selling faster than they can throw them in a truck, so no need in putting more money into them!

it’s not an issue for the whole country and, even if you live where it snows, it’s not an issue every time it snows, only when conditions are perfect to create build up. For people who do see this as a major issue, they find aftermarket work arounds. No different than say tire selection, can’t make a ‘one size fits all’ so they make it fit most and let the end user take it from there. That said, I am a little surprised this isn’t even an option for the top trim models.
