A few days ago Going down the highway my petal stopped working and threw a engine light i let off the throttle and it started working again I was using a chip tuner at the time and removed it that night thinking that was the issue but the next day I had no throttle except for in park or neutral and when I did have a petal in drive it was constantly Reving or going back to idle I’ve replaced the accelerator petal with a OEM one from ford I’ve swapped the Idm and the transmission harness with no luck and I’ve checked all my fuses anyone else have any ideas?
It would be good to know what vehicle and engine combo we're trying to diagnose. When you swapped the accelerator pedal out, what part exactly? There's an electric sender that's probably your issue up where the pedal is...

it’s a 2002 f250 7.3 with the stock automatic transmission the petal and sensor are built together so the whole petal assembly with the ivc and the app sensor are both new from ford not sure of the exact part number but I can get it if needed

That's interesting as if I remember correctly, that sensor could be bought and replaced separately, and I've seen them be bad out of the box...

I’ve read they can be but I didn’t see a way to remove it I attempted to replace it with the one from my 2001 but they changed the pedal assembly from 2 plugs to one 5 prong plug
I did some looking and tapped my fender well and my truck shut down. I wiggled the pcm harness and the truck skipped and died so I’m thinking that may be my issue

Fender well points to the IDM...do you have Forscan to diagnose?
