I bought a obs 7.3 psd off fb. Looking to do an idi to psd swap. Good looking motor. But the guy gave me what he thought was the right pcm, I didn’t know at the time but it’s a DAC2 out of a superduty. Do I need to buy a new pcm or can I use this one. I know superdutys are split shot but idk when they went to that. The psd I got was a 96, so it’s a later year if that helps any.
any advice helps 🙏
much love
It doesn’t have injectors, reading some more I noticed the 96 had or has split shot injectors? But not 100% does it matter if I buy split shot injectors, if the pcm requires it. Or a whole new pcm (MIF series is what I’ve read so far)
Since you're "swapping", it doesn't matter as you can wire the truck to run on the newer PCM. However, you didn't say what transmission you have/are using so if you have an automatic that DAC2 PCM will do you no good. Injector-wise, the PCM can be reflashed (or chipped) to run single shots.

it’s the zf5 that is in the truck the motor is going in
You'll have to re-pin the PCM connector for a couple things, put in a 99-up MAP sensor, and get some tuning for singles (provided the engine still has AA injectors) but that PCM will work.....technically. Easy? Depends on your definition of "easy".
