I was getting around 21.5 mpg with my 20 Ranger during the summer. But now since winter in Michigan I’m down to about 18 mpg. Does this sound right?
Seems about right to me. I am normally between 19 & 20 and last tank was 17.8 per the computer. Colder weather and winter blend is no bueno. I have gotten close to 30 mpg driving 65 mph and nearly all highway but those numbers are few and far between.
I was getting 22.8 up to 24 during the summer but now with the winter blend, I am down to 21.5-22. Yes, even here in Pensacola, we get crap gas too! But, I drove my super Duty for a week and had to fill it up ($80) and park it a gain due to the 12.5 mpg!
I'm impressed with my 2022 Ranger 4x4 Supercab mpg after I did 2 changes, 1st I added a tonneau cover (BAKflip), 2nd I replaced the noisy and terrible wet performance Hankook AT tires with a set of the All-season Uniroyal's (17")
1st my mpg jumped to 26 mpg on highways @ 70mph on secondary roads with the added tonneau cover, then the added Uniroyal's have me at 27mpg, in town I'm getting an avg of 23.5 (all hand calculated)
AT tires are not needed where I live so I made the change to the very quiet and highly rated wet performance all season Uniroyal's.

sounds like a good choice, i'l have to wait a little longer. what can i expect to pay for the uniroyal's ?

I know the added on tonneau cover helps allot too in improved mpg along with the highway all-season tread tires, these tires are 17".
I forgot to mention that I use the high octane gas too (91 here) but only started using it at 6000 miles, presently at 10,200 miles. After more research I noticed allot of Ford mechanics recommend the high-octane gas with the Ecoboost engines along with full synthetic oil with oil changes at 4000 miles, 5000 miles max. I upgraded to the high-octane even though Ford states its ok to use 87 but 87 isn't available here so I used 88, not much price increase with the 91 Vs the 88.
Even when I hot-rod around town I still get 22mpg (hand Calculated), even with this winter blend gas.
I've noticed that with the high-octane gas the computer mpg readout is only off now on an avg by .8 tenth's, sometimes it is right on the mark. I also only do a 10 second hold after the gas pump shuts off instead of the 30 second wait, i don't top off after the 2nd shut off of refilling gas.
Checked the MPG feature on my 21 Ranger yesterday and showed 24.4 .......... not bad considering most of my driving is around town with 87 octane fuel.

Yup, checked it with hand calculation awhile back and got 23+ and Ranger info MPG was 21+ ...... go figure. I've owned this Ranger since 2/22 and the check MPG once in awhile. Best was 25+ , worst was 20+ so far from the trucks computer info.
