I’m interested to know everyone’s experience with the rapid heat option. We’ve had a couple of single digit mornings here now and I’m just not sure if it’s working or not. I certainly do not get any sort of instant heated air from the vents, but it’s not ice cold air either. Certainly nothing that I think would heat up my truck. What are your experiences?
Would tend to agree rapid heat isn’t quite the right use of words. We’ve been 0F to -30F for the last few weeks there isn’t much heat coming out on cold starts.
Here’s a thread I started a while back with lots of comments on the rapid heat. I didn’t get it, but do have the engine block heater. I plug it in if it’ll be around freezing or below and it does seem to help, but it’s not instant of course.
Heated seats and steering wheel are noticed much faster. However, without the battery heater for a/c, the cab is cold forever on cold mornings - you define what cold is. Turning cab heat on recirc helps a lot but recirc does not work if you want defrost windshield. once the aux heat starts to warm the cab turn it off or you will fog up the windows especially if you have snow on your boots or floor mats.

Reason: Typo
I noticed it on mine the first morning i came out after getting the truck. Compared to my old 2011 6.7 it was significantly warmer in the cab after only running for a few minutes. There was so way the engine had any heat in it yet.
Rapid heat doesn't seem to do anything if you leave the climate control in auto. If you have CC in manual and crank the temp all the way you will get heat out of the vents almost instantly - well before the diesel heats up so it does work.
I just picked up my 22 F350 6.7 with rapid heat and I think it heats quite quickly compared to my Yukon XL Temp in the low 30's. I just use the auto settings. If you've got remote start, use it to get a jump on it.
