Need help

I have a 1991 Ford F-150 started it this morning shut it off went to start it again and it would crank but couldn’t get it to turn over and now the only way to crank it is to jump the solenoid. When you turn the key to start it, it does nothing. Any help or recommendations would be helpful. Thank you.

check battery, with digital volt meter, it is getting to that cold part of the year, and you find out your battery was slowly dying, all summer, happens every year.

If you have an automatic transmission trying starting the truck in Neutral. If that does not work jiggle the shifter a bit with the key in the Start position. A mis-adjusted neutral safety switch (AOD) or MLPS (E4OD) will cause this issue. If you have a manual transmission check the clutch pedal interlock switch.

Your other thread titled “ I need help” was about a broken steering column. This thread “Need help” is about a starting problem. Would you please start stating the issue in the thread title?
