11.9 mpg!!

Thats what a buddy of mines 2002 PSD overhead console was reading!!
He drives like I do, on it all the time. I just thought I would share this info....

For a PSD?? Sounds low to me. Very low.

If I paid an extra 5K for an engine that by its design is more efficient than a gas engine of equal size yet returned such dismal efficiency, I'd either put it in the shop or just get a V10 next time. Least then I'd be able to show a HEMI a thing or two. (stock for stock)

I seem to get 11.3 at best with my V10 3:73 rear....8.5 worst...mostly in-town driving

12mpg in the city
14mpg on the freeway.
pretty consistent.
But towing? 8mpg, sometimes closer to 7.

I think it's the 6 speed that makes all the difference.

16.5 @75, havent checked it since header install though,maybe 17 now? More power= less pedal to do what you want= better mileage.Simple.

I get over 16 MPG on a long trip, at sea level or up to about 3000 ft. Long trips are over 200 miles one way.

V10 SC, SB, 4x4. With the cap on. I notice I get as low as 13.5 without

I get as low as 5 around town. I expect that.

V10 Mileage with Excursion - more weight there - best 13.5 or so cruising interstate at 70MPH. Worst 10.5 or so around town. Could do worse, but I take it pretty easy. Use regular gas. 4.30 gears and 35 inch tires so I don't complain. Don't tow anything. Don't need to when you have your own comfy double size bed in the back.
