Sync not hearing me
Sync won't hear me no matter what. Every other functions works fine, but he Microphone does not hear me. Theres a never ending parts shortage at the moment and i cannot order a new Mic, but i did go to scrape yard and get a Mic out of a 2013 F150, that had three wires on it, (BT4T-19A291-AEW-39MC) plugged it in, and had the same results. this new mic had 3 wires instead of the two on my original but fit the plug just fine. My Microphone was working fine, even after a battery replacement but shortly after making some changes in Forscan, it lost touch with me.
I'm not sure if its an APIM issue, if its a Forscan issue, if its a Microphone Issue or exactly where to start. I'm mad enough that i'm thinking of just replacing everything with aftermarket components but even those are few and far between at this point.
Is there a way i can test this? Ive pulled fuses, master reset etc, but nothing has fixed it. Maybe i need to pull the fuse for longer, or disconnect the battery cables for longer.
What would you do?s
Background, when i first got the truck i played around inside of Forscan making some small adjustments and really just learning the layout. Despite my truck not having Navigation, i enabled the "Navigation while in motion" setting. My goal was to allow people to use my phone, pandora etc while in motion, or allow the passenger to pair their phone while i was driving etc. For whatever reason, i believe this also changed the Microphone type, cutting voltage off to the Mic i had. after sifting through the F150 Forums i stumbled into another guy having the same issue with an older F150.
Short story long, In forscan, under the APIM Module Configuration in the As Built Format i came across "Microphone Type" under Configuration 7DO-02-01. Changing the Configuration to;
7D0-02-01 -------- [X[b]4XX] [XXXX] [XXXX] and everything worked. this set it to a "VDT" Microphone.
If your having this issue and nothing else is working, check your Mic Type. This explains why the resets, mic changes etc never worked.
Heres a video link i found on it. Hope this helps someone someday.
