I have a 2000 F250 V10 and had to replace the battery so i jumped it and drove it to the shop and repalaced it
now a friend of mine noticed i had no brake lights, so i check the fuse and it was blown so i replaced it and it blew within seconds of putting it in. check the bulbs and they all look ok
where would be a good place to start ? and what are some of the things i should be checking
I would start at the wires under the rear end above the bumper, they get some abuse from rocks and gravel where the trailer plug connects (if you have one)
Anything aftermarket added, like stereo equipment or two-way radios that make a big draw, and would be wired to the battery directly? In other words, any wires that used to be connected to the battery that are now just flopping around?
