5star email tune or something else?
So I had three tunes from Unleashed since my truck was almost new. Over the summer I started having issues with the cam phasers so the dealer replaced them under warranty but then my ECU strategy changed rendering my tunes useless. Unleashed wanted way more to update my tunes with the new strategy than I can buy new ones from 5star for. I was about to pull the trigger the other day but figured I’d ask here first. My truck never ran all that smoothly with the Unleashed tunes so I’m hoping for something better. Should I be considering 5 Star or is there something else I should look at? Thanks in advance.

I'm new to tuners. Sounds like from the OP's question a person could by a tuner from one place but put tunes on it from another? Is there more to it than that?
I'd like to try 5Star on my 6.2, but it looks like I can get a new SCT X4 with canned tunes for about $200 less than from 5Star. Could I then buy "email tunes" from 5Star and put them in the tuner/ truck?
