55 bed disassembly advice wanted

I'm going to disassemble my bed for storage and for the replacement of the back panel. Does anyone have advice on those pesky rivets?

What rivets do you mean? Usually all the parts should be connected with bolt/nuts only - no rivets. Do You have a pic? Removing rivets works best by drilling them out. It's of course a PITA - job but I don't know any other way.

There are quite a few rivets but their position is mostly visible and they are easy enough to drill out with a spot weld removal tool. The bit I had most trouble with was the piece under the tailgate because it had a few repaints and damage which hid the spot welds. When folk put them back together again they often use nuts/bolts so that's probably what's on Rico's bed.
Edit - the removal set I use is this one - Blair BLR11096
I have tried a few but that one is the best I have come across. Like most of them it has a spring loaded centre pin which centres on a centre punch mark. I find it locates much better if you partially drill it with a 3/32 drill bit first.

Thanks for the info. I did expect it was going to be a pain and I had hoped for an easy solution, but I guess it's time to bite the bullet and just get on with it. lol
