I have a '77 F-150 which means it has NO three rubber oval plugs into the cowl vent bowls, and I know there's pine needles in there. I used block off plates last year, but not an option with new paint. This is NOT my truck, but soon putting new fenders on mine, and I was wondering if anyone reading this has added access hioles here in the picture and someplace on each side like the earlier "Dents" had?
I know I can get part way to the areas from inside the truck, through kick panel opnings. I was thinking maybe could use a circle cutter here to cut two rounds, then simply trim the bridge like piece between them out, and either use a plug or simply make a metal cover for it.
Any point to it, I could even make it a little larger for shop vac hose movement?
My cowl was crudded up with leaves and pine needles and some unknown animal and bug bodies. I had no problem getting it clean with a long blower and vacuum cleaner through the opening already there. Fenders of and interior stripped made it really easy. Adding a hole where you circled would not hurt anything but I don't think it will make a world of difference in getting it cleaned out.
