Where do I start...
New to me 99 F250 ECLB V10 Auto, runs and drives with less than 180k and mostly everything working for 2500. Bought it knowing it had a few issues I planned on fixing but I need a little help making sure I'm headed in the right direction. Ball joints are GONE on the right side but I'm replacing all 4, trans starts off in 3rd unless you manually shift from 1st/2nd to D, and has a misfire (170k never changed). I had 2 powerstrokes before who's transmission had the same issue and the fix seemed to be replacing the transmission shift solenoid, does this sound right for mt truck? Also, sometimes truck feels gutless over 2k rpm, especially if I have a trailer hooked to it but it's not all the time. Have P0300 and P0401 codes.

Before I drop my tranny pan tomorrow, any ideas anyone? Would the two codes I have cause the trans to shift like this or is it most likely the solenoid pack? Gears aren't slipping, just doesn't accelerat3 or shift right.
