That's a new one. Maybe Mark K will chime in on this. Have you code scanned the truck?

I recommend checking for codes. I've never seen this problem. My guess is that a solenoid is sticking.

Every once and a while mine will do that when it is really cold outside. Same as you though, if I let it warm up some first, shifts smooth as ever. I have not replaced my HPOP so it may be an unrelated issue.

I had rough idle on cold start and VERY delayed shifts until warm. Put some RevX in it for the rough idle and the idle improved and the trans shifts normally now. Not sure how it's related but I assume it's something in the software.

found the problem, altenator only putting out 9.8 volts and one bad battery, replaced both batteries and alt. guess sitting and warming up it had built enough juice to operate. i dont like bad mouthing mechs. but.... when i pulled battery covers off i found one of my matched set of batteries was replaced with a diffrent one wrong brand and wrong cranking amps after testing both wa la , guess which one was bad ,this was done while having hpop replaced ,no more work for him and a lesson learned,DO IT YOURSELF and you know what you get, thanks for replying everyone
