BBBetter targets Pickups

Glad I have a new truck ordered. Between forced electrification and what appears to be upcoming possible changes to truck size, glad I am inline. Only 38 days in. Could mean a 2023 build. Buried in the Build Back Better act is the demand of mandating changes to bumpers, height, hood height, material. Social Justice warriors find it unfair that vehicle occupants, especially "reptillian" truck owners come out better in impacts with pedestrians and bikes. Oh, really?
Also hidden in the BBB was that all cars will have to have breathilyizers in a few years. What else is in there? LOL

"Hidden within the Biden administration’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill is the U.S.’s first real attempt to address the regulatory shortfall. The bill requires that our five-star vehicle-safety-rating system—the New Car Assessment Program—be overhauled and that ratings be added for pedestrian impacts. (When the Obama administration proposed this change in 2015, some American automakers, such as General Motors, protested, and the Trump administration scuttled the whole thing.) Even better, the infrastructure bill calls for regulators at the U.S. Department of Transportation to develop standards for bumpers and hoods aimed at reducing injuries to pedestrians and cyclists. The agency will have two years to develop the standards and present them to Congress."

Can't have certain protesters getting injured when they purposefully block traffic. Other types of protesters can be left to rot in a jail cell without due process.

Just because the DOT would be directed to develop those standards, they will not be law unless congress passes them into law.

Bought my 2021 F350 for a similar reason. I figure the ‘23 & later might take a turn for the worse, kinda like the 70’s vehicles.
