AOD

Hi
I've got a 59 f100 that I put a 95 302 that I rebuilt in. I refit it to a carb (old school) ... i want to put an aod in it. My question is, will it fit in the space? Those who've done it, any tips?

4.6 with AOD. Fit alright.

That would be the AODE/4R70w wouldn't it Ibex? In any event it's the same size case as the AOD and both of those are slightly smaller than a C6...

I believe all the AODs are about the same except how they are shifted internally.

The AOD is all mechanical, doesn't have a locking TC, and was only made with the 302/351w bell housing bolt pattern. The AODE/4R70W that you have is completely computer controlled, has a locking TC, and has the 4.6/5.4 bell housing bolt pattern. Some of the 4R70w internal parts can be retrofitted into an AOD but it remains a mechical trans and would not bolt to your engine.
