Since its gotten colder, on several occasions when I go to start my truck (push button), I get a pop-up message saying “delayed start canceled. Push the start button and brake to start.” This is after I have just pushed the start button with the brake pedal depressed. Is that normal, or a fault in the system?

 

Normal for a Diesel, glow plugs going thru warm up cycle.

 

in mine if you press the brake and push the button when its cold..i dont have to hold or press again, it will start in a few seconds

 

Push the brake pedal down and hold it down while pushing the push to start button and you wont get the cancelled message. Keep your foot on the brake pedal until the truck starts, there will be a delay due to the glow plugs timing out.

 

Mine actually lit the glowplug indicator for longer than a flash the other day, was COOOOOOOOLLLLLLDDDD out!
