I went with the the D-Trac 3peak studdable version. They stay soft and pliable at 15 degrees just like a winter tire should. The studs, sipes and open tread take care of everything I have seen so far. These are my second most favorite set of snow tires, no regrets at all.
I’m running studded Firestone winterforce LT 275/70-18 on my first 3/4 ton here in Alaska. Majority of our roads here are now ice after rain in December and these handle pretty good and happy with them. I usually have a boss v plow on and these do great. I used to run hankook winter ipikes studded on my previous 1/2 ton silverado and still run those on my wife’s silverado which are great winter tire for 1/2 tons.
