Replaced the plugs on my 2000 Ranger with 208,000 miles on it. Any hints and or tips on the two aft plug wires under the intake.
YouTube university had one for removing the wires, but I struggled putting new wires back on. Wires I bought came with the plastic clips pre-installed.
those two plugs most likely were never changed,, as the gap exceeded. 060. All ather plugs measured between .044 & .046.
Is there any hints/tips/tricks to make it easier next time. I almost thought about displacing the upper half on the intake.
When I did my 2.3 many years back, I never had issues with those back two plugs. Just yank the wires off and an extension to go with the socket and I was good to go then reverse the process. I don’t have particularly small hands, either. Plug wire puller is nice, though.
I wasn’t too giddy considering what I had heard, either.
You may need an engine by the next go-round. My engine did drop a cylinder around 283,000 miles, so I never got one in before it got sold and driven south of the border.
