Diesel motor oil will start turn black in the first 5 minutes of running the motor after an oil change. If your oil still looks clean a few hundred miles after an oil change that means the oil doesn't have a very good detergent additive pack and it isn't picking up the soot like it should.

Oh sure it would look dirty right away. But it wasn't BLACK black. I guess we all have varying opinions on what designates it as BLACK.
And if you want it to look a little less dark a 2 micron bypass filter will take most of the soot out that is making it not look creamy yellow anymore.
I believe Amsoil has one on their site but they are not exclusive. There are a few systems out there some look like a 3 year old slapped some stuff together others look well though out. Just search oil bypass filter (insert your truck here) and you will get a hand full of results.

It will not make your oil last longer... Just looks cleaner.
